Objectives and Standards
In the programs and teaching at all levels, as well as through extracurricular activities and examples set by faculty and staff, The Oaks strives to:
- Teach all subjects in the curriculum as part of an integrated whole with the Scriptures at the center. (II Timothy 3:16-17) All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
- Provide a clear model of Biblical Christian life through the school staff and board. (Matthew 22:37-40) Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
- Encourage every student to begin to develop a personal relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:18-20) And Jesus came and spoke to them saying, All authority is given unto Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and, lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
- Emphasize grammar, logic, and rhetoric in all subjects. (Grammar is to be understood as the fundamental rules and data of each subject. Logic is to be understood as the ordered relationship of particulars in each subject. Rhetoric is to be understood as the means by which the grammar and logic of each subject may be expressed clearly.)
- Encourage every student to develop a love for learning and to achieve maximum academic potential.
- Provide an orderly and secure atmosphere conducive to maintaining these standards.
