Friday, May 18th - Civil War Reenactment
The 6th through 12th graders will be reenacting The Battle of Stones River this year in The Oaks' annual Civil War Reenactment. Join us as we experience history during The Oaks Classical Christian Academy's 11th Annual Civil War Re-enactment, Friday, May 18th, 10:00am - 2:00pm. We will have a shade canopy, and the sound of the fife and drum. Bring a picnic lunch and blanket!
Directions to the site: · From S. Glenrose Rd. turn west on 29th Ave. · From there, follow the signs which will direct you south onto a gravel road up to the event location.
May 21st through 25th - Junior Thesis Presentations
Juniors will present their theses Tuesday, May 22nd through Friday, May 25th. Topics include "Humor is a legitimate subject for theological consideration.", "Parents are morally obligated to maintain their child's health.", and "The example of Jesus and his disciples demonstrates that Christians ought to evangelize through relationships." Tuesday, May 22nd - Parent Academy
Please join us Tuesday, May 22nd at 7:00pm for The Oaks' Parent Academy. Parent Academy is designed for Oaks' parents who have students in Kindergarten or 1st grade. All Oaks' parents are welcome to attend. Free childcare is available. Please RSVP to office@theoakscca.org.
Monday, May 28th - Memorial Day - No School
May 29th through June 1st - 5th grade Field Trip to the Oregon Coast
The 5th grade will follow the Lewis and Clark trail to Oregon for their annual Oregon Coast Field Trip. After studying the history of the early West, including the Louisiana Purchase and the Lewis and Clark expedition, our 5th grade class will experience the history first hand as they travel to Astoria.
Thursday, June 7th - Senior Assembly
Each year The Oaks' Seniors speak on what they have learned from their time at The Oaks. Please join us in the sanctuary from 9:30am-11:30am on Thursday, June 7th to hear the reflections of this year's graduating class. To see a video of last year's Senior Assembly click on the video above.
Friday, June 8th - Awards Assembly
The Oaks' Annual Awards Assembly will be held in the sanctuary on Friday, June 8th from 9:00am till11:30am. Join us as we recognize our outstanding students this year.
Friday, June 8th - Senior Lunch with Headmaster
Each year the Senior class has their final lunch as High School students with Headmaster Bruce Williams. This a time for them to have one final lunch as a class and celebrate their graduation together.
Friday, June 8th - Graduation Commencement
The Oaks' Graduation Commencement will be Friday, June 8th at 7:00pm in the sanctuary. All are invited to come and celebrate the achievements of the class of 2012.
Tuesday, June 12th - 8th Grade Parent/Student High School Meeting
Eighth grade parents and students meet to prepare for High School next year on Tuesday, June 12th at 7:00pm.
Wednesday, June 13th - 6th Grade Promotion Lunch
At 11:30am on Wednesday, June 13th The Oaks celebrates the promotion of the 6th graders into Junior High.
Thursday, June 14th - Kindergarten Promotion Program
The kindergarten class celebrates their promotion to 1st grade with family and friends at 9:00am on Thursday, June 14th with a reception to follow.
Thursday, June 14th - Junior Parent/Student Senior Year Meeting
Juniors and their parents will meet at 7:00pm to prepare for their upcoming Senior year.
Friday, June 15th - Last Half Day of School
Scholl will be dismissed at 11:30am on the last day of school for the 2011-2012 school year.
Friday, June 15th - All School Picnic & Used Uniform Sale
All current and incoming families are invited to The Oaks' annual school picnic and used uniform sale at 11:30am.
