Tues., May 21st - Parent Academy
All are invited to the final session, this school year, of Parent Academy on Tuesday, May 21st at 7:00pm. This session Miss Kim Mewes, Head of Grammar School, will be speaking about "Repeated Practices for the Summer." Parent Academy is designed for Oaks parents of Pre-K through 2nd graders, but all are welcome. If you are interested in attending please contact the school office for more information.
Wed., May 22nd - Geography Day
Oaks 1st through 6th grade students will participate in The Oaks' annual Geography Day on Wednesday, May 22nd. Throughout the school year each grade level has been studying one of the seven continents. During Geography Day students will have the opportunity to share some of what they've learned as well as learn about the other six continents. It's a fun day of learning as students travel the world!
Mon., May 27th - Memorial Day - No School
May 28th-30th - Junior Thesis Presentations
Oaks Juniors will present their Thesis Presentations May 28th through 30th. Topics include Biblical Fatherhood, Texting, Introverts as Leaders, and many more. For a complete schedule of topics and times please click here. Theses presented on Wednesday, May 28th will be held in Room 7 of the MP building, while all other presentations will be held in Room 3 of the CE building. All are welcome to come and listen as the Juniors practice their rhetoric skills.
May 28th-31st - 5th Grade Oregon Coast Field Trip
Oaks' fifth grade students, and may of their parents, will be traveling to the Oregon coast May 28th through 31st. Being led by fifth grade teacher, Mr. Thomas Kolarsky, the class will follow the Lewis & Clark Trail, visit Fort Clatsop, study marine life on the coast and at the Newport Aquarium, and visit the Tillamook cheese factory during this educational four-day field trip.
June 4th-6th - Senior Finals
June 6th - Senior Assembly - 9:30am
On Thursday, June 6th all eighteen Oaks' seniors will present an individual speech to the entire student body on the lessons they've learned at The Oaks and what has helped them along the way. Please join us for this once a year event. The assembly will be held in the Valley Fourth Memorial Church Sanctuary beginning at 9:30am
June 7th - Awards Program
The all school awards program will be held Friday, June 7th in the Valley Fourth Memorial Church Sanctuary from 9:00 until 11:30 am. Students receive various awards including most improved, honor roll, and The Barnabas award. All are welcome to join us in recognizing the achievements of Oaks' students this school year.
June 7th - Senior Lunch with the Headmaster
Each year on their last day the senior class spends their final lunch as Oaks students with The Oaks Headmaster, Bruce Williams. This is an opportunity for the class and the Headmaster to eat and fellowship together one last time before they are Oaks graduates.
June 7th - The Oaks Graduation Commencement
The Oaks' 2013 Graduation Commencement Ceremony will be held Friday, June 7th at 7:00pm in the Valley Fourth Memorial Church sanctuary. All are welcome to join us in celebrating The Oaks' class of 2013 as they receive their diplomas. There will be a time of fellowship and the opportunity to offer your congratulations to the graduates in the gym afterwards.
June 11th-14th - Finals for 7th through 11th grades

June 12th - 6th grade Promotion Luncheon
The promotion luncheon for 6th grade students and their parents will be held on Wednesday, June 12th at 12:00pm in the Fellowship Hall.
June 13th - Kindergarten Promotion
The Kindergarten Promotion program will begin at 9:00am in room 3 of the CE building, followed by an outdoor reception. This is the last day of school for Oaks kindergartners, as they are now ready to be 1st graders next year!
June 13th - Senior Year Meeting for juniors & their parents
Oaks Juniors and their parents will meet at 7:00pm in room 2 of the MP building Tuesday, June 13th to discuss the students' upcoming senior year.
June 14th - Last Half-Day
Friday, June 14th is the last half-day of school for all Oaks students, grades 1st through 11th. School will be in session from 8:00am until 11:45am.
June 14th - All School Picnic & Used Uniform Sale
All current and incoming families are invited to the last day of school picnic and used uniform sale. This event will begin with the last cantabile of the 2012-2013 school year at 11:45am on the play field at The Oaks. At 12:15pm "all you can eat" pizza will be available for purchase ($4.00 for adults and $2.00 for children under 10.) Families are asked to bring their own beverages. Families will also have the opportunity to sell and buy used uniforms at this time. In case of inclement weather, the picnic will be in the gym. Please contact the school office for more information.
